"He Has Set Me Free"

 

When your heart is heavy

and your eyes are filled with tears

you can focus on a memory

and travel thru the years.

 

Do not be burdened with this time of sorrow

all I wish for you is sunshine on the morrow.

My life's been full, I had so much,

2 children, good times, and a woman's light touch.

Do not grieve for me for now I'm free

following the path that God has laid out for me.

He took my hand when I heard him call

I turned my back and left it all.

 

I could not stay another day

to laugh, to love, to work to play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way

I found that peace at the close of day.

 

Perhaps my time seemed all to brief

don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts and peace be unto thee

God wanted me now,

He has set me free.
