Ruff, Ruff

Ruff Ruff
I am an old man now
but made a great find
it was riding my e-bike
so that I could unwind.
With my two little dogs trotting right by my side
riding the fence line on my property, oh what a joyous ride.
After our e-biking trip
around the yard was done
the three of us go and find
a place in the mid-day sun.
We head over to seek refuge under a huge shade tree
as we settle in on a swing set, perfect for all three.
We watch the clouds
slowly drifting by with delight
two furry heads on a swivel
taking in all of the sights,
how blessed I am to have my two dogs, what a pleasure,
better than diamonds or gold, a far better treasure.
Watching the clouds drift by there is much to explore,
the soft wind bending the branches, and so much more.
Just when I think
that I have had pleasure enough,
I smile real big as I hear
my two little dogs echo ...
Ruff Ruff.

Memories I Keep

Memories I keep
The mornings light mist the sky a vast blue
seeing the beauty of a sunrise what a wonderful view.
As each morning for me is a battle with time
I walk my two little dogs that make my spirit shine.
My knees are aching but they take a back seat
Odie and Gracie make my stroll so complete.
The two little dogs run with tails wagging with glee
a sight of love and happiness I wish all could see.
They do the doggie dance their love on full review
two furry companions that are loyal and true.
The beauty in life I have found in the simple things
the moments of joy that my morning stroll brings.
I live now for these moments
that make my life so sweet
my morning walks with my dogs
a cherished memory I keep.

A Faithful Dog

A faithful dog
A faithful dog will play with you
and laugh with you or cry
he'll gladly starve to stay with you
nor ever reason why.
And when you're feeling out of sorts
somehow he'll understand
He'll watch you with his shining eyes
and try to lick your hand.
His blind implicit faith in you
is matched by his great love.
the kind that all of us should have
in the master up above.
When everything is said and done
I guess this isn't odd.
For when you spell "dog" backwards
you get the name of God.

Beba - My Little Dog

“My Little Dog”
He has been a friend
For all of these years.
He has made me laugh,
And helped dry my tears.
Not so good looking,
Overweight with one eye,
Much better than any pedigreed
That money can buy.
He has been with me so very long
Loving, trusting and true,
He's turned many a cloudy day
Sun-shiny and blue.
A heart, that was bigger than life,
He never once let me down.
His short coat was black, his feet,
And muzzle grey brown.
Now that he has gone
And is so far away.
I want to tell my little dog,
What I've longed to say.
