Little Girl in Blue
WEST WING

This drawing was on top of the list. I was able to sell her to inmates for their children. Very lucrative ... drew about a dozen.
I sent one to Renee, my daughter for some special occasion. Either for
her birthday or Christmas. Most likely Christmas as I am still in doubt
about her date of birth. Can you believe that!
I really feel as though I finally got it right on the eyes. In all my drawings to me that is the most important. It took about three drawings of her until I felt that it was as good as it gets for one who is not an
artist, but a drawer of pictures etc.
It took about two days to draw. The first one, the hair was really wild. You can see that instead of a busy style the hair is more individual and stark.
The folds in her suit and shirt were challenging for me. It was very hard for me to figure out how to put the "folds" or creases in them where the look like a natural crease, bend or fold.
Could not get the hands right though. The idea was to make them "pudgy" like little gals have. That did not work out right and probably is out of my ballpark ability to come close.
Anyway, a fun drawing that I have had the most compliments on. Over the years I have given copies to five of my closest friends, daughter, son, and grandson. Dillon my grandson, had a newborn, Dillon Jr. It was for his child’s room.
Shading has faded over the years.
