“Song and Dance”
I am now an 83 year-old man,
a good salesman since my life began.
I have trained hundreds without a fee,
some of them became better than me.
Honesty, a cornerstone for my success,
some sizzle on the steak though I must confess.
Each customer different, geared up for a fight,
should have seen my verbal tap-dance, oh what a sight.
From the foundation to the roof I sold it all,
it was my passion, and made me stand ten feet tall.
The challenge a rush, I had an order to fill,,
in the hustle and bustle I found such a thrill.
I started a company, with hard work and dedication,
fixing houses, bringing families peace of mind and celebration.
A foundation of success built on honesty and trust,
a salesman's dream realized, but hard work a must.
In a world of cracked foundations and sinking homes,
as a salesman I saw the need, didn't want to leave it alone.
I trained many a salesman, passing on my knowledge and skill,
watching them succeed, seeing their families thrive and fulfill.
My pitch geared up for the fight, making not work but fun,
my reward now is I bask in the Gulf and the warm Florida sun.
My legacy will live on, in the homes I helped to save,
and the families I supported and lives I did pave.
Now that age may have caught up with me,
it will never be forgotten as it is burned in my memory.
So here's to the salesmen I trained for tomorrow,
with my song and dance routine…
there's no room for sorrow.
