Shut The Door

"Shut The Door"
She was not so tall but ramrod straight,
an elegant beauty with a prideful gait.
Elven ears below her windblown hair
a smile to match her complexion fair.
A rawhide necklace with a cross-hung around,
a prettier cowgirl can hardly be found.
Well-worn boots nothing fancy there,
they fit the stirrups, that's all she did care.
She reached out to those who could not stand,
with love and warmth and extended hand.
Time as it does somersaults with her life,
as she tries to help others bury their strife.
And as she gets a little older out of the gate,
her trust in the Lord she has put her fate.
Starting early she has turned life's page,
And let the Lord speak to her the words of a sage.
Others have knowledge but can only guess,
what she's all about under her calico dress.
With great consternation she senses what's awry,
and asks why others don't know our Lord in the sky.
She lives her life, not in yesterday,
praying to Him for every single day.
She does not cry out to them anymore,
if they won't listen real close…
she will ... "shut the door".
