The mouse in the corner

is turned away

hoping his predators

will pass him this day.

 

Alone and frightened

the little mouse hides

he has to be still

jungle law abides.

 

He does not see

the real enemy

it's not the predators

it's you and me.

 

Busy, always busy

killing our friends

were out of time

and have to make amends.

 

Look how helpless

these little creatures are

we find them at home

and from afar.

 

Stop I say!

we must be willing

to stop the slaughter

to stop the killing.

 

Give them life!

Life I say

or you and I

will rue the day.
