A New Life
_edited.jpg)
"A new life"
I have danced and lived with a youthful ease,
sunrises golden in the cool mountain breeze.
In the twilight of my years I sit alone,
reflecting on life full of its highs and its lows.
Once lost in the grip of drugs and despair,
imprisoned by my mistakes burdened with cares.
Released from the chains of my past mistakes,
I chose a new path a chance to partake.
In the dance of redemption I had a second chance,
to rewrite my story to start a new dance.
In a prison cell I thought my life was done,
little did I know that it had only begun.
When I was paroled I had a fire in my soul,
I was dead set on building a business that was my goal.
I was willing to work hard with a dogged determination,
building a business I could point to with admiration.
But in the midst of the hustle of my thriving enterprise,
I found a connection, a love in my life what a joyful surprise.
For the next 20 years with a good woman by my side,
I felt the love I needed, I met Janet, my partner in my pride.
A gentle soul a kindred spirit I found,
in the vast expanse of the digital ground.
For 20 years I toiled and I did soar,
a phoenix rising, no longer one to ignore.
She brought light to my darkest of days,
bringing on peace and warmth to my long nights,
and together we basked,
in life's newfound delights.
So let it be known, that in the darkest of days,
there's always a glimmer of hope, a light that stays.
For even in the depths of despair and strife,
love can transcend, bringing forth a new life.
