Fishing
This drawing was originally done on a handkerchief.
I saw some others that were inmates that put out art that was so much better than mine. They were drawing tattoos, handkerchiefs, envelopes, and portrait work that were really something to see.
I would watch them until they told me to leave.
They were mostly Hispanics.
I would swear that they all were artists in their own right. Wonderful stuff!
I learned enough but they earned quite a bit of commissary with their work. My first drawings were okay enough for a few of the Caucasians, like
myself that could not afford their work, so came to me for a discount.
Still ... I loved passing the time this way. Drawing and writing poems. I was better at poetry and that's where I was able to put a few bucks on my account for stamps, envelopes, deodorant, little Debbie pies, etc.
