Loss To Gain

 

Who said the darkness of night

Would never turn to day?

Who said the winters blackness

Would never pass away?

 

Who said the fog would never lift

And never let the sun to shine?

Skies that grow a gray overcast

And say that all is done by design.

 

Me, that's who,

 

But, why should we entertain

Thoughts so dark and grim

And let the brightness of our mind

Grow so cold and cynically dim?

 

When we know beyond questioning

That winter turns to spring

And on the notes of sorrow

New songs we made to sing.

 

No one sheds a teardrop

Or suffers loss in vain

For there always is tomorrow

To turn our loss to gain.
