It is the dawn of my days, and I stand alone
Battered, beaten, a weary soul
Only those that know
Will my stories be known

There are gray-black threads in my hair
I have to prepare to bid this world farewell with care

Memories, they dance like shadows at night
A kaleidoscope of moments, some hard, some light

I’ve watched the sunrise, hundreds, thousands of times
Feeling the rhythm of life, tinkling like chimes

Now it is quiet, no music in my fading years
I have to face my Maker, and confront my fears
Yes, the time has come, and I must say goodbye

The Lord has called my name, let my spirit fly
God only knows of the valleys and peaks
Witnessing the joy that my heartbeat seeks
As the sun dips below the horizon’s line

I embrace the end, knowing my destiny will be fine
I have the faces of my loved ones etched in my mind
Their laughter, their tears, their words to me kind

I will carry them with me, destination unknown
The Lord will be with me, I will not be alone
So no tears for me, do not let them fall
You will know me by the soft wind’s gentle call

I will whisper to you, hear me, a rustle in the trees
Feel me, my presence, in the soft summer breeze

Life, a tapestry woven with threads so fine
Reveals now a farewell, a silent sign

I will welcome my death with its infinite embrace
As I journey to a mansion in another time and space

Goodbye, Raphe and Renee, the time is nigh
I will be gone with the Lord for eternity, I shall not die
I will carry them with me, destination unknown
The Lord will be with me, I will not be alone

For in your hearts that I leave behind
