Cold Steel

 

It’s all too real

The trail that I’ve followed,

mindless, leading to nowhere,

has led to grief,

heartbreak, and despair.

Fear and uncertainty…

I know not why,

two constant companions

that are hard to die.

​

The future…menacing,

sinister, and real,

afraid of mistakes

In this cavern of nightmares,

surrounded by steel,

there’s no room for emotion

​

or compassion to feel.
