Palette of Gold

 

I can only sit with a blank page and wait.

It fascinates me ... I cannot press a button

I cannot program it, I hope to relate.

 

But being a novice

the literary equivalent

of a Big Mac or fries

to paint and type a message

that will be a surprise.

 

Words, like brushstrokes

sketching secret joys and fears

the brush trembling in my hand

capturing all of the years.

 

The canvas of my life is coming alive

as a picture emerges showing my trail

a masterpiece of emotions

illuminating strength and tenacity in every detail.

On this blank page of life

with ink and colors so bold

I leave behind a painting of words,

all I am missing now

is a ...
